COMING BACK WITH AN AWARD-LIEBSTER BLOG AWARD


       


 I am really excited to announce that I received my very first award. This lovely award is passed to me by two wonderful food bloggers MY FOOD TREASURES and HOME COOK FOOD. I am really grateful to both of you for considering me for this.
Actually they passed me this award few weeks back. But I couldn’t update it  since i  had been to Kerala for a month due to some urgent family matters and i was sooo busy that I couldn’t even open  my PC. Now I am back to normal routine in my abode with lazy mornings ,cooking experiments , my favorite activity blogging…
    ok lets get in to the activity..there are some rules for receiving this award these are the rules

ELEVEN FACTS ABOUT ME
  1.       I am very friendly and very talkative.
  2.       I am very short tempered. But i don’t keep any revenge in heart.
  3.      I am very sensitive .even a very silly thing can make me desperate and sad for long time.
  4.       I love travelling, always enthusiastic to taste the regional food.
  5.      I can forgive things very easily.
  6.      I love interacting with people
  7.       I love reading but very specific..Not a voracious reader. But love visiting libraries and book shops
  8.     I hate sports. Hate all activities involving much physical strain:)yes I am very lazy.
  9.      I had a full time job…never interested in busy life so resigned .but now started feeling guilty of  wasting my education so planning to be  into job again:)
  10.   I am into blogging to convince my relatives and friends that I can cook..yes its strange but its true. Even my parents never thought that I can cook something that is edible:)Still there are many who believe the pics in my blog are copied from some other site ..
  11. I always dream of becoming a famous entrepreneur..of course that would be a restaurant.

1.      What is it about you that make others happy?
Openness .I mingle with people easily without any inhibitions
2.      What gives meaning to your life?
My family
3.      What did you want to be when you were 11 years old?
I wanted to be an architect
4.      If it didn’t make it happen why not?
Me and mathematics never been in good terms  .  so I lost my hope when I learnt that architecture is something that involves lots of mathematical skills apart from imagination and creativity.
5.      Is there anything that you would avoid in your kitchen?

Both

7.      If you were given a chance to change something in your life what would it be?
My habit of loosing temper easily
8.      Which brings more joy to your heart cooking or cleaning?
Cooking. The thought of cleaning after cooking sometimes even make me stay from  my favorite activity of cooking too..
9.      What is your idea of a good movie?
A good movie should entertain the viewers.
10.  While travelling by train, would you prefer to sit facing forward or backward. Why?
Forward .i find its more comfortable
11.  Is blogging a necessity or pass time for you?
I started it as a pass time but now i t has become a necessity

UNAKKACHEMMEENUM MANGAYUM (DRIED PRAWNS IN MANGO FLAVORED COCONUT GRAVY)



Ingredients
1.      Dried prawns-one handful (cleaned and heads removed)
2.      Raw mango-1 no cut into long pieces
3.      Green chilly-4nos,slitted
4.      Grated coconut-1/2 cup
5.      Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
6.      Coriander powder-2 ½ tsp
7.      Pearl onion-3nos or half of one small onion
For seasoning
1.      Oil-1tbsp
2.      Mustard seeds-1/4tsp
3.      Dry red chilly-2nos
4.      Curry leaves-1sprig
5.      Pearl onions- 2nos,thinly sliced 

Method of preparation
1.      Cook ingredients 1-3 by adding 1 cup of water and salt.
2.      Grind ingredients 4-7 into smooth paste by adding little water. Add this into the cooked prawns and mango. Add water if required. Let it boil for 2 minutes.
3.      Heat oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds. Add curry leaves, dry red chilly and pearl onions. Stir until onion turns brown. Add this into the prepared curry.Enjoy with rice..

CHICKEN(DRUMSTICK) FRY




Ingredients

1.      Chicken drumsticks-4nos
2.      Chilly powder-4tsp
3.      Pepper-1tsp
4.      Cumin powder-3/4tsp
5.      Garam masala-1tsp
6.      Ginger-1small piece
7.      Garlic-6pods
8.      Salt
9.      Curd-2tsp
10.  Oil for frying

Method of preparation

1.      Make 3 or 4 slits on the drumsticks.
2.      Grind ingredients 2-9 into smooth paste. Marinate the chicken with this paste. Let it rest for at least half an hour.
3.      Take a pressure cooker. Add 4 tbsp of water .Keep the chicken pieces in. (do not pour water over the chicken as it will wash away the marinade).cook up to 1 whistle. Let the pressure come down. Heat oil in a kadai. Deep fry the pieces in medium flame for 5-8 minutes or till it turns dark brown.(turn the pieces once in between) The chicken is already cooked so you don't need to fry it for long time. Drain it on a paper towel. Serve hot…

HOW TO MAKE PANEER-STEP BY STEP ILLUSTRATION



 I tried my level best to include step by step pictures. But I missed few ,where I had to use my both hands .so when you make this i suggest you to read the methods apart from following the pics :) 
 
Ingredients
1.      Milk-1litre
2.      Lemon juice of 1 lemon
3.      a piece of clean cloth preferably a muslin or cotton cloth.( i used a piece of one old dhothi)

Method of preparation

1.      Keep your strainer ready.Spread the cloth over it.



 2. pour the milk into a  deep bottomed vessel.Bring it to boil.


3.      When it comes to boil add lemon juice little by little.Give a nice stir.Let it curdle fully.Switch off the flame.


4.      Transfer this into kept ready strainer.Wash  under running water.Let the paneer sit for few minutes
.

5.      Now sqeeze it to remove excess water.Grind it using a mixer grinder in order to get smooth lumps free paneer.


6.      Place it back on the cloth.

7.      Shape it in to a square or round shaped block with help of a spoon.


8.      Fold the cloth.keep some heavy object over it.(i used one stone i collected somewhere from the beach)


9.      Keep in fridge for 3 to 4 hrs.
10.  Take it out and cut into cubes.lets make your favorite paneer dishes


NOTES: Here  i used full fat milk.Toned milk also can be used,but with toned milk the quantity of paneer will be less.With this measurement you will get around 150 gms of paneer
